“Everything – she does so much for our students and is a truly dedicated teacher who loves teaching. Her primary role is Music instructor and has been with the campus since its opening in 2016. She is able to work with kids who often have never played a musical instrument (such as all three of my boys) and help them have a love of playing and improve their technique. I recall the very first concert we went to for my oldest son when he was in 7th grade – it was painful. By the second concert we heard drastic improvement and by the end of the year you could tell which songs they were playing. Since then, it has been a pleasure to go to the concerts. The difficulty and length of the songs continue to increase. She will also do additional classes after school for those who are unable to take music during school (such as my youngest who is in 6th grade). She is also an accomplished musician herself and has represented Utah as part of America’s Band Directors’ Marching Band in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC more than once. This is an example for the students to always keep reaching for something. She has been working with all her groups and taking them to competitions where they continue to do well and often see improvement year after year.
In addition to teaching music, she is an SBO Advisor specifically working with the National Honors Society for both Jr. High and High School. My middle son has been able to be in a leadership position working with her – it has been very good for him. I believe the most recent induction into the Jr. NHS was the largest they have had to date and a lot of that is attributed to the efforts of Ms. B (as everyone calls her). She is not a loud or wacky teacher. She is rather quiet and clam, but the kids love and respect her – she is a true leader with the students in that sense.”
