“I cannot say enough good things about Miss Serena. She is in her third year of teaching, and has the passion of a new teacher but the patience and poise of a veteran teacher! She is so wonderful at creating a safe, happy space for every type of learner. So many of her fourth graders say that Miss Serena is their favorite teacher! She leads by example by following her school’s values: SOAR. She’s safe and supportive, open and honest, accountable, and respectful and responsible. Recently, and part of the reason I am nominating her, she wrote an entire program for a parent school performance! It has songs, dances, dialogue, and more! It’s tied to history of the state of Utah, which she teaches to her fourth graders. She could have accomplished this with slideshows and worksheets, but she went above and beyond to create something truly magical! Miss Serena is so dedicated, and is so deserving of some extra recognition.”
