Serena Knaphus, Canyon Rim Academy

“Serena Knaphus is a fourth grade teacher who goes above and beyond for her students in every way. Last year was her second year of teaching, but you’d never know it! Besides the obvious focus on academics, Serena makes every child feel important and included. She works tirelessly to really know every student, and makes sure her room is a safe community for all of her students. She’s a favorite teacher of many students for a reason! She goes out to recess to throw the football, spends her own money to make her classroom a cozy, happy space, and works at home to modify curriculum to be more engaging by making her own slideshows and documents, and she volunteers every Wednesday after school for an hour to coach our school’s jump rope team! I can’t say enough good things about her!”
