“When you meet Shoat Roath from North Summit High School, you won’t just be impressed with how tall he stands. Mr. Roath is truly one of the most incredible teachers and human beings I have met. He truly cares about the well-being of his students and has been one of the most influential teachers I have met.
Mr. Roath (affectionately referred to as ‘Shoat’ by his students), has the highest respect from his students, staff, and parents he works with. Mr. Roath puts endless hours into teaching Welding, Floral, Greenhouse Management, Leadership, and Ag Science at North Summit High School in Coalville. Once a student at the High School himself, Mr. Roath now influences 9-12 grade students who look up to him in so many ways. Personally, my son has learned to weld and has been able to create a business, get a great job and learn some very important life lessons from Mr. Roath. I credit Mr. Roath with my son’s passion of welding that will influence him the rest of his life.
Mr. Roath also volunteers for our County Fair each year. He helps with the livestock sale, sorting, and teaching the kids to show animals respectfully and successfully. Mr. Roath takes a huge interest in our youth in the North Summit Community and is one of those teachers who can never be replaced.
There have been days that Mr. Roath has personally overseen the projects my son has done and spent so many extra hours helping him. Mr. Roath drives long distances to be sure my son has the supplies he needs and the tools to be the best he can in the field. Mr. Roath is not only a top-notch teacher, but he and his wife are raising an incredible family in the Coalville area, and he expects his girls to also contribute to the well-being of others.
There are not enough words to express my gratitude and respect for Mr. Roath. If you ask anyone in the North Summit area who one of their most influential teachers is, it would be Shoat Roath! We have an incredible team of teachers at North Summit, and we would love to see Mr. Roath recognized for his positive and irreplaceable influence over education, community, and his family.”
