“In a fully virtual setting, Ms. Paul has built an accessible, trauma informed counseling program that reaches students and families where they are. She offers weekly SEL LiveLessons, small group sessions focused on friendship skills and coping strategies, and individualized check-ins that honor student voice and confidentiality. She uses data thoughtfully to identify students who may need support and partners closely with Learning Coaches and teachers to provide clear resources. Ms. Paul responds swiftly and thoughtfully during high demand situations to ensure students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
Ms. Paul’s positive impact is felt across our school community because she leads with empathy, responsiveness, and professionalism. She communicates clearly, builds trust through consistent follow up, and brings a calm, can do attitude that steadies students and staff alike. Her culturally responsive, relationship centered approach creates a welcoming climate where students develop resilience, practice self regulation, and gain the confidence to participate and persevere. UCA is kinder, safer, and more connected because of her work. I am proud to nominate Shondrelle Paul for Teacher Feature and deeply grateful for the support and excellence she brings to our community.”
