“I would like to nominate Ms. Udy for this recognition because she truly represents what it means to be an exceptional teacher. She has been teaching at Shelley Elementary school for 20 years, and during that time she has impacted the lives of countless students and families in the community.
She has an incredible love for the kids she teaches and is deeply committed to helping each one of them succeed. Her classroom is a place where students feel loved, supported, encouraged, and valued. She takes the time to understand each child as an individual and works hard to make sure they feel confident and capable both academically and personally.
What makes her especially remarkable is how far she goes beyond just the school day. She regularly attends her students games, performances, and activities on weekends just to cheer them on. Many former students continue to stay in touch with her years after leaving her classroom because of the lasting impact she has had on their lives.
She truly treats every student as if they were her own. Her dedication, compassion, and commitment to her students is something that families in the community deeply appreciate. In fact, she is one of the most requested teachers at the school year after year.
After two decades of teaching she continues to show up with the same passion, love, and care that she has had from the beginning. She goes above and beyond for her students in every possible way, and I cannot think of someone more deserving.
She is truly the best of the best, and our community is incredibly lucky to have her shaping the lives of so many children.”
