To Whom it Concerns:
I’m very impressed with your program. This program is one that recognizes the individuals that deserve the recognition. These are the people that have the future of our nation in their hands. Most of our teachers have the ability to guide their minds.

I would like to nominate Susan Cloward. She grew up in a rural area in Benjamin, Utah. She started her teaching career in 1972 until present. Susan taught at Brockbank first and she was there until 1976. She was there for quite a few years.

Susan taught first grade while there for the full time. She would take the students that were down on themselves…the children didn’t have any idea about school. She would take these children and get them reading and doing math; and with them reading good it helps with their English subject. She has had many parents request her for their children.

Susan was a teacher that would share her ideas with other teachers. Susan would work in the summer with the curriculum committee. This group would put the program for the next school year. Her responsibility was for the reading part. She is a reading specialist. Susan is always reading to uplift herself and so she can continue to help everyone around her.

Susan was so consistent at being at Brockbank. She was teaching her old students’ children. Also, Susan doesn’t only think about her students or former students. She would go to their programs in their upper grades and she gets announcements about their future. She would go to support them in all their extracurricular activities.

Susan has the ability for discipline to where she can be tough but stern and gets what she wants for her students to get done. She very little had to have the principal do the disciplining.

Susan had her students come back to her and thank her for her help while in her class.

If they ask for her help in their higher class she jumps right in and helps them if she could see they needed help.
Susan living in a rural area, she made helping others her motto. She had a family that was there to help others.
She went to work at Canyon Elementary. This school was a newly built school. The district felt like they needed a teacher like Susan in that area. Susan taught there for four years. She then went to Park Elementary for the next nine years.

Susan is one that can be moved around. She makes friends easy and has a way to get students to do their best. She realizes reading is a very important part in a student’s life. She realizes if she gets her students off to a good start in reading it will help them in the rest of their school years. This is something they use in all their subjects. She knows if they can read then the students can comprehend more in all subjects.

I feel like I’ve grown just knowing Susan Cloward. If I can gain half as much knowledge that she has, I would be a better person.

I am nominating Susan Cloward. She is the reading specialist at the Park Elementary School. I work for the Nebo Transportation as a bus driver.
