“As a 4th grade school teacher, she has spent countless weeks pouring her heart into her students, creating a safe place for them to learn, grow, and believe in themselves. Teaching has never just been a job for her. It has been a calling. She has given so much of her time, energy, patience, and love to help others succeed.
For the past year and a half, Mrs. Stone has been fighting colon and rectal cancer. Through every appointment, every treatment, every difficult conversation, and every uncertain moment, she has faced this journey with incredible strength and courage, all the while continuing to care for her students.
Valene is a rock star and very deserving of this award.”
