Victor Neves, West Hills Middle School

“Mr. Neves has been teaching middle school band for 30 years. He will be retiring this year due to a cancer diagnosis. During his tenure he has worked with thousands of beginning musicians. Taking a brand new student who has never touched an instrument and guiding that youth into an accomplished musician. He is a model of optimism and shows each student not only the worth they have but helps them to see who each of them can become. Mr. Neves volunteers his time to come before school and work with the Jazz band outside of normal work hours. He has touched the lives of my children and many others and deserves recognition for all he does.”
