“I am nominating Whitney Rasmussen from Brookhaven Elementary because she has been a literal miracle for our family. Transitioning into 4th grade with an IEP can be daunting, but Whitney made it seamless. Despite having 30 other students, she manages to provide the kind of individual attention you’d expect from a private tutor.
She doesn’t just ‘follow’ his plan; she lives it. She proactively incorporated his therapy goals into the classroom and provided us with constant, data-driven updates. She celebrated his wins to make them memorable and cushioned his hard days with grace. Most importantly, she never lost sight of the ‘good kid’ behind the struggle. Her belief in our son has led to tremendous progress that we didn’t think was possible this year. She is the gold standard for Utah educators.”
