1 dead, 2 critically injured after crash in Coalville on I-80

SALT LAKE CITY — A fatal crash has left one person dead and two others critically injured, after a vehicle went off the road while travelling westbound on Interstate 80 Sunday in Coalville.
The Utah Department of Public Safety said a passenger sitting in the front seat of a Nissan Rogue died after the the vehicle went off the road, overturned and hit a concrete irrigation ditch at 11:30 a.m.
Both the driver and one passenger sitting in the back seat had critical injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment, DPS said.
Investigators still don’t know why the vehicle went off the roadway and the incident was still being investigated, according to DPS.
The crash was not affecting traffic as of 2:30 p.m.
