Crash leaves motorcyclist in ‘extremely critical condition’ in West Valley City

WEST VALLEY CITY — A road was closed in West Valley City following a crash that left a motorcyclist in extremely critical condition Friday morning.

West Valley City Police said a man in his twenties was riding south on 5600 West at approximately 5400 South when he crashed into the back of another vehicle.

Witnesses reportedly told police he was riding at a high rate of speed.

Southbound lanes of 5600 West were closed starting at 4700 South, and West Valley City PD said at 9 a.m. that the road would be closed for “at least a couple hours.”
