I-80 lane closures expected to impact morning, afternoon commutes

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Transportation is warning drivers about lane closures on Interstate 80 that started on April 8.
Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction between 7200 West and 5600 West for bridge maintenance.
The lane closures are expected to last two weeks.
KSL traffic reporter Rikki Meese said to expect delays for morning and afternoon commutes. Meese said to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and consider using an alternate route.

UDOT recommended using state Route 201 as an alternative.
