Several weather-related accidents close road in Provo Canyon

PROVO — Crews closed state Route 92 in Provo Canyon on Thursday afternoon after two vehicles slid into the river.
“Vehicles currently on the road are unable to pass due to additional accidents on the road. Avoid the area at this time,” the North Fork Fire Department said in a Facebook post.

North Fork Fire Department chief Dave Marsella said that there was a total of four crashes on the route.
Officials said no one was seriously hurt in any of these accidents. Utah Highway Patrol’s Sgt. Cameron Roden said crews are trying to get snow plows to the road to help with the slickness.

UHP also reported a rock slide on the road at approximately 2:00 P.M.
“They closed the roadway for a little bit while UDOT got some of the large rocks out of the roadway. This was around MM 11. Not far from bridal veil falls. They reopened the road at about 2:25pm,” said Roden.
So far no one has been reported injured or hit from this rock slide.
