Tanker catches fire on State Route 40 near Park City, closing eastbound lanes

SALT LAKE CITY – A tanker hauling gasoline on State Route 40 caught fire Wednesday afternoon, shutting down eastbound lanes near Park City, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
Lt. Cam Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol said the tanker was fully engulfed, due to fuel burning off a ruptured section of the tank.
The driver was able to exit the tanker and the fire was put out, Roden said. There were no reported injuries.

At the time of publication, the Utah Department of Transportation said one lane had opened for eastbound traffic, and residual traffic should be expected.
