SALT LAKE CITY — Another year, another record holiday traveling could be happening across the country next week, according to AAA. And for Thanksgiving travel here in Utah, one of the busiest days to drive will be the day before — Wednesday.
John Gleason with the Utah Department of Transportation said outside of the normal Wednesday before Thanksgiving travel, there isn’t any active construction planned in Utah for the holiday drive. However, he advises drivers to stay alert and safe on the roads.
“A lot of folks are wrapping up their work week maybe on Tuesday, maybe on Wednesday,” Gleason said. “Just make sure that you’re getting plenty of rest if you are taking a longer road trip.”
Gleason also said to expect added delays on Southbound I-15 in Salt Lake County and Northbound I-15 in Davis County between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday.
