Two teens killed, two teens injured, in Providence, Utah crash

SALT LAKE CITY — A 17-year-old male and a 14-year-old female died from their injuries when their car lost control and crashed on state Route 165, not far from Ridgeline High School in Providence.
According to Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Davies Sanchez, the driver of a Toyota Corolla lost control, crossed all lanes of traffic and then veered into oncoming traffic.
Sanchez said the Corolla driver hit the front of a Toyota Sienna and rolled. The crash happened Saturday at approximately 7:09 p.m.
There were five people in the Corolla, and three of them were ejected from the vehicle.
The UHP said one of the Corolla occupants was airlifted to a hospital and three others were taken by ambulance.
A 17-year-old male was declared dead at the scene and a 14-year-old girl was hospitalized but died there of her injuries.
There are GoFundMe* accounts set up for Xylie Hutchinson and Laulea (CJ) Fiefia, who both died in the crash.
A GoFundMe* account was also created for Kaycin Nielsen and Braxton Miller, who were injured in the crash.
On Monday, the Cache County School District provided a statement about the students killed and injured in the crash.
“We are deeply heartbroken by this tragic accident, and our entire community is in mourning. Our full attention is dedicated to supporting our students and families. The five individuals involved in the auto accident were members of the Cache County School District community—either current or former students. Three of our high schools have been directly impacted.
“Additional counseling services are available at all affected schools for students and staff, and we are working closely with local community resource centers to provide comprehensive support. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and all who knew and cared for them during this unimaginably difficult time.”
