COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS — A Utah Highway Patrol trooper was hit by a passing vehicle in Cottonwood Heights on Thursday, according to UHP.
The crash occurred on Interstate 215 just ahead of the 6200 South interchange. According to Lt. Cameron Roden with UHP, the trooper was hit while he was outside his vehicle assessing another collision. He said the trooper sustained moderate injuries.
Roden said the highway was down to one lane just after 6:30 a.m, and would likely remain so for about an hour. He warned the conditions in the area were slippery and asked drivers to use caution.
