Abandoned West Valley house torn down after fire

SALT LAKE CITY — A home that caught fire on Monday was torn down on Tuesday, as an investigation continued into how the fire got started.
Fire crews from West Valley City were called to the house fire late Monday afternoon and were able to quickly douse the flames.
West Valley City Fire Battalion Chief Nick Dodge said when they got to the home at 4016 S. 6000 W., the home’s interior was filled with smoke.
Dodge said the home was boarded up, and that the fire on the main floor was put out quickly.
Home was empty
According to Dodge, searchers didn’t find anyone in the structure. Additionally, nobody was injured.

By Tuesday afternoon, the cause of the fire was still unknown. But Dodge reiterated that the circumstances are suspicious. For example, Dodge said there have been “multiple fires at that house over the last few weeks.”
An investigation continues.
