Alleged burglary ends in stabbing in South Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY — Two people were hospitalized after an alleged burglary devolved into a double stabbing Monday in South Salt Lake.
According to the South Salt Lake Police Department, a homeowner saw an unknown woman entering their apartment through the homeowner’s ring doorbell.
Police said the homeowner called a relative to report what they had seen and the relative decided to confront the alleged burglar.
During the confrontation, a fight broke out between the two, leading to multiple stab wounds on both the homeowner’s relative and the alleged burglar.
Police were unable to identify where the knife came from in the fight.
Both went to the hospital with non-life-threatening stab wounds.
Detectives from the South Salt Lake Police Department investigated the scene.
