Bomb squad responds to blasting cap found in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY — A bomb squad responded to an area near the Salt Lake County Government Center on Saturday after a maintenance worker found a blasting cap.
The blasting cap was found at 1966 S 200 East, which is a 17 story residential high-rise, according to the Salt Lake City Fire Department.
Lt. Ben Hone with the Salt Lake City Police Department said the blasting cap was not attached to anything, there was not a threat to the public and the cap would be disposed of.
