Salt Lake Police reported fatal auto-pedestrian accident

SALT LAKE CITY — Authorities from the Salt Lake City Police Department arrived to the scene of a fatal auto-pedestrian accident. Although, officers performed life-saving efforts, the victim died on scene.
Police began investigating the fatal auto-pedestrian accident around 7:30 on Tuesday night.
An initial investigation found that the driver of a small commercial-style van traveling southbound on State Street struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian appeared to be attempting to cross South State Street.

The driver of the van in the fatal auto-pedestrian accident remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
Police say the accident occurred at 1460 South State Street. Southbound State Street was closed from 1300 South to Cleveland Avenue for several hours.
