Brian King elected chair of Utah Democratic Party

SALT LAKE CITY — Brian King, 2024 gubernatorial candidate and former Utah State Representative, was elected as chair of the Utah Democratic Party, the organization announced Saturday.
“I’m honored to have earned the trust of our delegates to serve as Chair for the next two years. Over the past four months, we’ve traveled the state, hearing directly from Utah Democrats about their hopes, frustrations, and vision for the future,” King said in a party press release.
The outgoing chair, Diane Lewis, said she was “delighted to pass the torch to Brian,” and was excited to see how the new leadership moves forward.
The elections were the result of the party’s 2025 State Convention held in Ogden. The party said, “Delegates from across the state gathered to vote, connect, and reaffirm the party’s commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive Utah.”
Also announced as newly elected officers were Susan Merrill, Vice Chair, Brad Dickter, Secretary and Catherine Voutaz, Treasurer.
“We have the vision. We have the momentum. We have the drive. Now, let’s get to work, and let’s win,” King said.
