Car breaks through wall of West Valley home; homeowners unhurt

WEST VALLEY CITY — A man drove his car into the living room of a home in West Valley City on Thursday morning, emergency crews said. Nobody inside was hurt.
The crash happened in the area of 4100 South and Rushford Court.
Firefighters on scene told KSL that they believed the 39-year-old man driving may have had a medical episode, leading to the crash.

The car appeared to go into the living room of the home. Firefighters said two people were in the house, but not in the room the car hit, and they weren’t hurt.
Emergency crews took the driver to the hospital, but his injuries were unknown.
They said the house’s structure was affected to the point that firefighters weren’t sure if it was safe to occupy, and crews were working on a gas line in the home. A West Valley City Fire Department spokesperson said the home would be boarded up while inspectors made sure it was safe for the homeowners to return.
