Deer Creek Fire determined to be human-caused, suspect in custody

SALT LAKE CITY — The Deer Creek Fire in San Juan County has been determined to be human-caused and a suspect has been identified.

In a post to Facebook Monday night, the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office said a “thorough investigation” led it to determine the fire was human-caused.

The Sheriff’s Office also said it has a suspect has been identified, but is not releasing their name at this time.
