PARK CITY, Utah — Four people were sent to the hospital Wednesday after an explosion in a yurt at a camp near Montage.
Darren Nelson, chief of Park City Fire District, said four people were inside the yurt at the time of the incident and were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. He said the incident occurred around 2 p.m.
Park City Fire District responded and quickly put out a small fire from the explosion.
According to Nelson, someone was working on the furnace at the time of the explosion for maintenance or a repair issue.
The yurt sustained significant damage and will be closed for the season.
The cause is under investigation. However, Nelson said gas was the source.
