Dixie State University honors Class of 2022 at commencement ceremony

ST. GEORGE, Utah — Last weekend, Dixie State University held its 111th commencement ceremony as the Class of 2022 was honored. It was also its largest graduating class with 2,684 degree candidates.
According to a university press release, 60 percent of those graduating received a bachelor’s degree. Additionally, 38 percent of those graduating received an associate degree, while two percent of those graduating earned their master’s degree.
The graduates ranged in age from 16 to 79. Dixie State University’s Class of 2022 includes graduates from 49 states and 15 counties. Additionally, 63 percent of those graduating were female, according to a university press release.

“What a tremendous honor it is to celebrate the achievements of our graduating Trailblazers,” Dixie State University President Richard B. Williams said in a press release. “Thanks to the experience they have gained through our hands-on educational opportunities, the Class of 2022 is graduating career-ready and will continue to blaze their own trails and make a difference in the world for years to come.”
The speaker at the commencement ceremony was Carly Fiorina, founder and chairman of Carly Fiorina Enterprises and former CEO of Hewlett Packard.
