SALT LAKE CITY — More details emerged about the long-awaited development plans at the Point of the Mountain.
A groundbreaking will take place on December 17.
The Point Executive Director Mike Ambre said one feature will be an incubator space for innovation.
“We’re really trying to create this ecosystem of start-up and industry to help students bring innovation to the market,” he said.
There will also be a strong emphasis on creating a community for walking, biking, and open space.
“Whether that’s advanced air mobility, or a bicycle, or walking or an autonomous vehicle, we just need to look at alternative methods [to] everyone hopping into a single car,” Ambre said.
The River-to-Range Park will include a way to cross I-15. This will provide access to the mountains on the east and the Jordan River on the west.
“Connect Draper from a walking or a biking standpoint, and you can jump on the Jordan River Parkway or you can go and ride up to Corner Canyon,” Ambre said.
The development will have shopping, dining, and public art.
