Man hospitalized after falling 20 feet in Adams Canyon

SALT LAKE CITY – A man was hospitalized after he fell approximately 20 feet off a waterfall in Adams Canyon Monday, according to the Davis County Sheriff’s Office.
The 64-year-old man was reportedly hiking with his family when he fell near the canyon’s lower waterfalls, Stephanie Dinsmore with the Davis County Sheriff’s Office said.
The Layton Fire Department said in a post on Facebook that “bystanders, including a nurse, provided immediate aid” until crews arrived.
Dinsmore said the man sustained injuries, a medical helicopter helped transport him to the trail’s parking lot before being taken to a hospital by an ambulance.
The Layton Fire Department, Davis County Sheriff’s Office and Davis County Search and Rescue reportedly responded.
“As a reminder, please stay safe while hiking,” the Layton Fire Department said on Facebook. “Be prepared for changing trail and weather conditions, and always hike with caution near water and steep terrain.”
