Firefighter injured after falling while fighting a two-alarm fire

SALT LAKE CITY — A firefighter was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained after falling while fighting a fire in Centerville early Monday.
Fire Chief Greg Stewart with the South Davis Metro Fire said police who were patrolling an area near the fire reported seeing smoke and flames coming from an industrial business at 3:30 a.m.
Stewart said one firefighter fell and had to be taken to the hospital on precaution, where they were later released. He did not specify how far the firefighter had dropped.
Stewart said several firefighters from South Davis Metro, Farmington Fire, Kaysville Fire, Layton Fire and Salt Lake City Fire responded.
According to Stewart, no one was inside the business at the time of the fire and the cause is under investigation.
