KEARNS, Utah — Students walking home from Kearns High School along the nearby railroad tracks risk being robbed, and possibly at gunpoint.

Unified Police said this has been happening along the tracks east of the school for the last three weeks.

Police told KSL 5 TV that some of the incidents involved threats at gunpoint.

In a joint statement with Granite School District, police ask everyone to stay away from that path. They said it is private property owned by the railroad and is considered trespassing.

Police and the school district also encourage anyone with information to come forward or call Unified Police dispatch at 801-840-4000.
