Truck driver dies after crane collides with bridge, causing crash in Lehi

LEHI — A truck driver died Sunday after leaving the crane up on a truck and colliding with a bridge, according to the Lehi Police Department.

City communications manager Jeanteil Livingston said the crash occurred at 9:28 a.m. near 2100 North and 2300 West.

Livingston said Lehi police and Lehi Fire Department were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash involving a cement form truck with a crane mounted on the back. 

Police said the crane arm was extended upright when it collided with the bridge, causing the vehicle to lose control and roll over.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to Livingston.

She said the road was closed for six hours as crews investigated and cleaned up the scene.

“The road is currently still closed,” Livingston said. “Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and use alternative routes.”
