Mail-in ballots start arriving in mailboxes Tuesday

SALT LAKE CITY — The June Primary Election in Utah is just a few weeks away. Starting on Tuesday, mail-in ballots will start to arrive in mailboxes around the state. 

There is a lot on the line in the June 28 primary election. Nearly all of Utah’s federal delegation is up for grabs.

All four of Utah’s congressional districts, along with one senate seat will have Republican primaries. In theory, that means all four of Utah’s congressmen along with Sen. Mike Lee could be voted out of office at the end of the month.

That’s not to say that will happen, however. Typically, incumbents have good name recognition. What it does mean, though, is Utah residents will have some pretty important decisions to make at the end of the month.

Only registered Republicans are allowed to vote in the primary elections. However, if you are an unaffiliated voter, you have until June 17 to register as a Republican. According to state law, it’s too late to switch parties, if you are a registered Democrat.
