Driver in critical condition after ‘major crash’ on Redwood Road

SOUTH JORDAN — A “major crash” closed all lanes of traffic on Redwood Road. Thursday night, according to the South Jordan Police Department.
In an X post from the Utah Department of Transportation, the crash closed all lanes near 9800 S. Redwood Road at mile marker 46.

Officer Shaun Becker with the SJPD said a pickup truck turned left to head eastbound on 9800 S. when it was struck by a truck hauling a trailer.
According to a press release from the SJPD, the driver of the pickup truck was transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the truck and trailer was uninjured.
The SJPD is urging the public to use an alternate route, as an investigation is underway.
UDOT expects the area to be cleared by 10 p.m.
