SALT LAKE CITY — A Riverdale man was arrested in Brigham City on Saturday after allegedly hitting two different cars and threatening someone with a pocketknife.
According to Brigham City police, the 39-year-old suspect was driving a white van near 161 S. Main Street in Brigham City when the suspect was involved in a hit-and-run.
No injuries were reported with the hit-and-run, with police stating only minor damage was inflicted on the car.
Shortly after the first hit-and-run, police said a second crash occurred involving the same suspect as the second victim was turning to enter a Walmart parking lot. This victim was allegedly startled into pumping their brakes, resulting in a second crash.
A man riding in the passenger seat of the victim’s car approached the driver of the white van, who allegedly attempted to pull out a pocketknife.
The man told police he saw the suspect with the knife and managed to pull the suspect out of the van.
According to police, the man “ensured” the suspect could not injure anyone until police arrived, where the suspect was taken into police custody.
The suspect was booked into the Box Elder County Jail for driving under the influence, refusing a chemical test, reckless driving, following too close and aggravated assault.
