Man dies after being shot during vehicle burglary confrontation in Roy

SALT LAKE CITY – A 58-year-old man died after being shot in the chest early Sunday morning, according to Roy police.
He was found after police responded to a reported gunshot wound near 4200 S. Westlake Drive. The man was treated by first responders on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to police.
Officers from the Roy City Police Department reported that two individuals were confronted about burglarizing vehicles in the area. During the confrontation, one shot was fired, and the suspects ran from the scene, police said.
One suspect was found a short distance from the crime scene and was taken into custody. The second suspect was located at his home in a neighboring city, police said. One suspect was transported and booked into the Weber County Correctional Facility on charges of murder, according to police.
