SALT LAKE CITY – A 49-year-old man was taken to the hospital in a helicopter on Saturday after being involved in an “off-road machinery” accident at Little Sahara.
Lt. Chris Painter with Juab County Sheriff’s Office said the man was riding a dirt bike or UTV just after 1 p.m. near the Oasis and Jericho campgrounds, when the accident happened.
According to Painter, the man’s vehicle had rolled when the accident occurred.
Painter said search and rescue crews had a hard time finding the man, so a helicopter was called in to search the area. From there, the helicopter took the man to the hospital with injuries to his lower extremities.
According to Painter, the injuries were non-life threatening.
