Man stranded in Warner Valley slot canyon is in serious condition

WASHNGTON COUNTY, Utah — A 41-year-old man is in serious condition after being stranded overnight in the area near the Warner Valley slot canyon in southern Utah.
According to a news release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the man had been out riding a motorcycle in the area Sunday. However, he never returned Sunday afternoon.
Emergency personnel were notified late Sunday night about his disappearance. Search and rescue searched for the man until 3:30 a.m. The search continued early Monday night. And around 8:30 a.m., the man was found at the bottom of the slot canyon. Emergency personnel say he had been stranded there for nearly 20 hours.
The release says he had fallen 15 to 20 feet down the canyon.
The man was transported by helicopter to a hospital in St. George.
