SALT LAKE CITY — One person was killed in a crash on Interstate 15 Thursday morning in Millard County after being ejected from a vehicle, according to Utah Highway Patrol.
Lt. Cameron Roden with UHP said a Chevy suburban went off to the right of the roadway and over corrected back to the left.
“The vehicle spun into the median where it rolled and two passengers were ejected,” Roden said.
According to Roden, a man sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle died at the scene of the crash, while a man who was sitting in the back of the vehicle had moderate to serious injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The only person not ejected from the vehicle was a man who was driving. He was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition, according to Roden.
Southbound lanes were blocked as crews worked to clear the scene. By 10 a.m., northbound lanes were opened to drivers.
Roden said traffic was diverted to I-70 where drivers could turn and get back on I-15 south.
