Fire burning off I-15 in Utah County human caused, agency said

Editor’s note: Utah Fire Info initially reported the name of the fire as the “Miracle” Fire, but later corrected that to the “Milrace” Fire.
SALT LAKE CITY — A large human-caused fire was burning in a field in North Springville near exit 260 off of Interstate 15 on Thursday.
By 6:25 p.m. MDT, Utah Fire Info estimated the fire to have burned between 25 and 30 acres. The agency also said the wind was dying down in the area.
The Springville Fire Department, along with crews from Mapleton Fire are working the fire, which has created billowing black smoke and is slowing traffic in the area.

The Milrace Fire is burning in marshy terrain containing phragmites according to Utah Fire Info.
