SALT LAKE CITY – An Amber Alert has been issued in Idaho for two Monteview teenagers who are believed to be traveling to Utah, “due to religious beliefs,” according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Police believe the pair may be traveling to a Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints community with their now 18-year-old sister Elintra Fischer, who was reported missing on Jan. 1, 2023.
The sheriff’s office said it received a report that Allen Larand Fischer, 13, and Rachelle Leray Fischer, 15, were missing from Monteview, believed to have left on their own accord to return to Trenton, Utah where they previously lived.
The sheriff’s office described Allen as 5 feet 9 inches tall, 135 pounds, with “longer sandy blonde hair” and blue eyes. Rachelle was described as 5 feet 5 inches, 135 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
“It is believed that the children willingly left to return to Trenton, Utah due to religious beliefs,” the sheriff’s department said.
Detectives said Elintra is currently listed as a missing person, and authorities wanted to ensure she is okay.
Police said the teens may be traveling in a gray Honda or Hyundai sedan with Utah license plates. It is possible they are traveling to Mendon, Utah, the sheriff’s office said.
Detectives said they are working with other jurisdictions to locate the missing teenagers.
At the time of publication, the two teenagers are listed as runaways, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies said they attempted to leave on their own in the past and had been returned to their mother, Elizabeth Roundy, who has full custody.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office requested that anybody with information on the missing teenagers contact its dispatch center at 208-745-9210 and select option seven.
