Officers shot at while serving Draper drug warrant, US Marshals say

DRAPER — A person shot at police from a residence in Draper on Wednesday night, the U.S. Marshals Service confirmed on Friday. No officers were hurt.
Supervisory Deputy Mark Thomson with the U.S. Marshals Service said a violent fugitive apprehension team was serving a warrant for drug distribution in the area of 13400 South and Minuteman Drive at approximately 10 p.m.
When the officers arrived to serve the warrant, they were shot at from inside the home, Thomson said.
Thomson said a woman was found at the scene with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The ensuing standoff lasted approximately four hours, and Thomson said Draper PD, Unified PD SWAT and West Jordan K9s responded. Draper police were investigating the aftermath of the shooting.
