Man hit and killed in Ogden crosswalk, Ogden’s second fatal auto-ped in days

OGDEN, Utah — A man crossing the street at 33rd Street and Wall Avenue in Ogden was hit by a vehicle Monday afternoon at around 4 p.m., according to witnesses.
Ogden City Police said that upon their arrival, the victim was dead.
A preliminary investigation found that the pedestrian was in a designated crosswalk when he was hit. However, the same investigation found that the crosswalk signals were not being used properly.
Police said the driver left the scene, but that officers found him “a short distane later.” The suspect is reportedly cooperating with police.
On Dec. 27, a man died after he was hit by a vehicle at 20th Street and Harrison Street in Ogden. The driver in this case is under arrest and being investigated for automobile homicide. and DUI.
