One in custody, one in hospital after reported assault in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY — Police detained a person of interest in an assault that took place in the area of 450 North and Redwood Road Saturday afternoon.

Brent Weisberg with the Salt Lake City Police Department said paramedics took one person to the hospital. Their injuries were not considered serious.

First responders were still on scene close to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, continuing their investigation. Weisberg said there was no safety concern to the public.
