Paragliding accident injured one in Rock Canyon

SALT LAKE CITY — One paraglider was injured in Rock Canyon near Provo on the afternoon of July 30.

According to Provo Fire & Rescue Capt. Jeanie Atherton, the accident occurred at approximately 1 p.m. At this time, authorities are unsure of how the accident happened.

Rescue teams hiked to the victim and stabilized them. Then, LifeFlight lifted them off the mountain.

Although the victim’s injuries are “serious,” Atherton said they are in stable condition.
