SALT LAKE CITY — On Sunday, Powder Mountain celebrated the opening of its new high-speed lift, known as Paradise.
“This marks the completion of our trifecta of major lift improvements,” said Powder Mountain. The new lift is the third to open on the mountain this season.
According to the resort website, the new Paradise lift was built by Doppelmayr. It replaced an older ski lift, shortening the time it takes skiers to reach the top. The upgrade cuts the time it takes to get to the top. Previously, the ride was 16 minutes. Now, the website said it takes about seven minutes to reach the top.
The ski resort celebrated its new lift with donuts and a banner breakthrough.

Powder Mountain said Timberline lift was also upgraded, opening for the season on Dec. 17. The new lift replaced one of Utah’s oldest operating ski lifts. The resort said the replacement was manufactured by Skytrac, a company based in Utah.
The upgraded lifts weren’t the only infrastructure upgrades to arrive on the mountain. On New Year’s Eve, a brand new lift named Lightning Ridge opened.
“We’re thrilled to unveil this brand-new lift,” said Powder Mountain.
The brand-new lift carries skiers to advanced terrain. A map can be found on the ski area’s website.
Finally, the ski area’s website said that a new lift called Raintree would open this season. However, it will only serve glade skiing terrain accessible by those who own homes in Powder Haven. No additional details were provided.
