PARK CITY — A dump truck rolled over at Guardsman Pass, causing a gravel spill and closing the road down for several hours.

Around ten o’clock this morning a dump truck hauling gravel tipped over and spilled. The driver of the dump truck claimed to have had brake problems and tipped while trying to stay on the highway.

Park City Fire District hazmat crew responded to clean up fuel that spilled due to damage to the fuel tank caused by the rollover.

Traffic is being re-rerouted at Marsac Avenue near SR-224 to Twisted Branch and into Brighton Estates while crews clean up the fuel and gravel spill.

Crews estimate the road will be closed for 4 to 5 more hours for clean up.

Officials in the area have been coordinating to reduce commercial vehicle crashes in the area of Marsac Avenue over the last couple of month and will continue these efforts, Spokesperson, Joe Dougherty with Department of Public safety said.

No injuries were reported.
