Southbound I-15 closed in Nephi as UHP reports several crashes

SALT LAKE CITY — Several crashes were reported on the freeway in Nephi on Monday. The Utah Highway Patrol asked drivers to avoid the area if possible as southbound Interstate 15 was closed.

UHP said crashes were reported between mile markers 226 and 228. Southbound lanes of the freeway were shut down, and traffic was being diverted into Nephi. There was no estimated time of reopening.

Sgt. Mike Alexander with UHP said the crashes happened after a snow squall rolled through the area.
