Student group claims they were refused tickets to university event because they looked like protestors

SALT LAKE CITY — Frustration is already building on the University of Utah campus ahead of a speech from a controversial radio show host. Minority students say they camped out for ticket to Ben Shapiro’s talk but were skipped over.
It started the morning they gave out tickets to the event. A group of ethnic minority students had camped out to be first in line. When they asked for tickets Jasmine Robinson, a member of the black student union, says the ticket holders tried shutting the door on their group.
“They said no, you’re not allowed to. We’re not giving out tickets to protestors.” Robinson said, adding that none of them were acting like protestors.
While they argued, she said members of the Utah’s Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) snuck outside and began giving tickets to other people. YAF Chairman, Dillon Clark, said they skipped over the students because they had cut in line.
“We didn’t think that was fair.” Clark said.
