SALT LAKE CITY — In a first for the Tooele City Fire Department’s Engine 26, firefighters extinguished a fire at a trailer park Thursday morning
According to the TCFD, the fire started around 7 a.m. at Vorwaller trailer park. Firefighters arrived to find a shed on fire, with flames spreading toward a nearby home.
“A quick fire attack was implemented where the fire was stopped before entering the home,” TCFD said in a Facebook post.
According to firefighters, this was the first time the TCFD was able to use its new fire engine, Engine 26. The engine was first introduced to the public on March 29 during its “push-in ceremony,” where firefighters also celebrated the opening of their third fire station in the city.
“This was also Engine 26’s first fire where we put it to the test with great success,” the fire department said in a Facebook post. “Thanks to the quick 911 phone call from our Tooele citizens. Without you this could have had a worse outcome.”
TCFD said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
